The built in 3G technology provides the user with an high speed broadband connection along with fast data transfers, multitasking capabilities & video streaming. The Bluetooth® connectivity allows the user to use a wireless connection between their new 3G phone & any Bluetooth® compatible personal computer, laptop, mobile phone, PDA, printer or headset. The Bluetooth® connection can be gained between any Bluetooth® devices which are up to ten metres apart. The user can connect to other devices using a micro USB connection & the phone comes with a micro USB cable to get the user started. The Nokia 6500 Classic comes with one Gbytes of built in memory which is ideal for storing all those treasured photos, videos, music & messages. The user can enjoy using their world wide as the phone supports quad band technology which covers GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 & WCDMA.

The featurelist of the 6500 Classic matches what you’d expect from a mid-range 3G phone in 2007: a 2 megapixel camera (no autofocus - so don’t throw away your digital camera!), a competent music player (although support for Bluetooth stereo headsets is missing), a video camera and good connectivity via USB and Bluetooth. There’s nothing to get very excited about here, but it ticks all the boxes that most people will care about. One obvious thing that’s missing, considering that this is a 3G phone, is video calling. There’s no front-facing camera, so video calling is out, I’m afraid. However, the sales package does include a Nokia Stereo Headset HS-82 and a microUSB Connectivity Cable CA-101, so we can’t fault Nokia for their generosity there.

One of the unusual features of the 6500 Classic is that it has a fixed memory of 1 Gbyte, of which around 920 Mbytes is available to the user. Now this has its good points and bad points. The bad point is that there’s no slot for increasing the memory beyond 1 Gbyte. But on the other hand, 920 Mbytes is enough to store 200-300 songs, which is certainly enough for most users, and it means that the memory is all easily accessible in one place, without any hassle of copying data from internal memory to memory card. Given the kind of phone that the 6500 Classic is (i.e. mid-range) we think that this is a perfectly good solution.

With the Nokia 6500 classic, Nokia is skillfully combining these areas of expertise to deliver a compelling blend of design and technology at a mid-range price point,” said Peter Ropke, Senior Vice President, Broad Appeal Business Unit, Nokia. “While a feature like the aluminum “loop” structure separates the Nokia 6500 classic from the pack, it is the skillful balance of features and style that will make it an irresistible cell phone to customers.”
Instantly recognizable by its seamless case crafted from 360 degrees of anodized aluminum, the Nokia 6500 classic is a 9.5mm thin statement of unsurpassed attention to detail. As an expression of individuality, each Nokia 6500 classic is individually polished, ensuring that no two phones are exactly alike, while diamond polishing used on the beveled display aperture and cold stamped logo demonstrate the highest levels of craftsmanship.

Nokia 6151

6151.jpgVolume: 88 cc
Weight: 98 g
Length: 108 mm
Width: 47 mm
Thickness (max): 19 mm

Display: 262,144 colors, 128 x 160 pixels display

Price Range : $249.00 - $379.00

The handset has a reasonable 30MB of shared internal memory for your photos, messages, video files and music, although shutterbugs may want to look at purchasing either a 1 or 2GB MicroSD card lest you forever be uploading your favourites to your PC. This may not be a bad idea either; as the phone’s display isn’t the most vibrant we’ve seen. At 128 x 160 pixels it’s also quite small for a 3G handset, and should you wish to use it for high-speed Web browsing via the WCDMA support, you may find it simply can’t display as much as the 240 x 330 pixel display found on even the Nokia 6300 slimline handset.

Although the 6151 is primarily designed for phone calls with features like MP3 and camera tacked on for goodwill, the handset does support Flight Mode, turning off the radio and letting you use it as an mp3 player on plane trips. It also supports a wide range of file formats. In addition to MP3 it includes M4A, AAC, eAAC+ and WMA audio, meaning you should be able to use it with protected WMA content from online music stores. When you get sick of your MP3s there’s always the option to switch to radio, using the integrated FM tuner.
The 6151 is best described as attractive yet reserved, with a subtle black and silver finish. Measuring 108mm x 47mm x 19mm and weighing just 98g, the candy bar unit is easy to cup in your hand and comfortable to hold to your ear when making phone calls. The sides and rear sport a rubber style surface, while the keys and surrounding display area have a gloss black finish that unfortunately attracts some unwanted fingerprints. Nokia has included dedicated volume control keys and a camera button on the right as well as a push-to-talk (PTT) button and microSD card slot on the left.

Nokia has equipped the 6151 with a 256K TFT screen. With a maximum resolution of 128 x 160 pixels, the display is bright, but not overly crisp or clear. While the 6151 is a low-end model, a screen of clarity equal to or better than many of the 3G handsets recently reviewed would have been welcome. The keypad and controls are attractive, however the keypad feels squashed and each key requires a firm press to operate. Combine this with the fact that the keys could protrude further from the keypad back panel and the result is a reduction in the speed at which we could tap in messages. The other controls consist of a five-way navigational pad, two selection buttons as well as answer and end call keys. One criticism of the navigational pad is that it can be a struggle to avoid accidentally pressing the centre button when scrolling up or down.

Other highlights of the 6151 include a 128×160 pixel, 262k color display and the well polished S40 user interface. There is also an on-board FM radio, as well as push to talk support. Voice dialing and commands are available to the 6151 user, as is a speaker independent number voice dialing application.

The 6120 Classic is a classic-looking Nokia finished with attractive chromed highlights (available in black, white and pink). It’s a slimline phone with a large screen, and an easy-to-use keypad and 5-way navigation key. Like the very popular 6300, it gives the impression of an old-fashioned Nokia (which is a good thing) as if the company has learned some lessons and is getting back to what it used to do so well - making great phones that do just what you want.

However, looks can be deceiving, because this is no bog-standard Nokia, but a 3G Symbian smartphone. In fact it’s the lightest and probably the most compact smartphone available, and the most mainstream one too. The 6120 Classic is a high-spec device, outstripping the Nokia N73 in some respects. The first thing that we note when examining the phone is the display. This is a very high quality display with an amazing 16 million colours and a very high resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. However, this does mean that fonts are small, and anyone whose eyesight isn’t as good as it used to be may well struggle with this phone. The camera is rated at 2 megapixels and is nothing special, but the 6120 Classic does also support video calling. The 3G is a fast (so-called 3.5G) HSDPA implementation, enabling download speeds several times faster than normal 3G.

Two cameras are present on the 6120 Classic: a front-facing unit for video calling, and a 2.0 megapixel rearward-facing sensor with 4x digital zoom for easy photography. Nokia’s 6120 Classic is designed with ease of use in mind, and the full S60 smartphone UI accomplishes this well, including contact management, a calendar, task list, email access, and other tools to make managing your life easy. One of the biggest draw cards for the device is its HSDPA compatibility, delivering up to 10 times faster data speeds than normal WCDMA networks.

The 6120 sports two cameras — a 2-megapixel one on the back for taking photos and a lower-res one on the front for video calls. There’s an LED flash on the back and nightmode to assist taking shots in the dark. Panorama shots and video capture are welcome additions. The camera’s sequence mode lets you fire six shots in rapid succession — about two per second.

Through the Gallery on the Nokia 6120, you can watch saved video clips, listen to music and voice recordings, stream video over 3G and view presentations.

Out of the box you can fit around 64 songs on the 256MB card. The 6120 supports cards up to 2GB, increasing the storage capacity to around 500 songs. We’re a bit disappointed in the a rather lame set of headphones you get in the box — there’s very little bass and they’re kind of uncomfortable after a few minutes.

Surf the web and download music and videos quickly over the high speed 3G or HSDPA* connection

Nokia 6070

60701.jpgVolume: 73 cc
Weight: 88 g
Length: 105.4 mm
Width: 44.3 mm
Thickness (max): 18.6 mm

Display: 65,536 colors, 128 x 160 pixels display

Price Range : $120.00 - $229.00

The Nokia 6070 is a compact & classic style mobile phone which comes in highly attractive silver grey coloured casing. The phone has a large & very user friendly keypad which will allow the user to create messages & dial telephone numbers with ease. The phone weighs a total of 88 grams & the overall casing size is 105.4 x 44.3 x 18.6 mm which provides a very good & comfortable handset.

The 6070 comes with a beautiful & bright 65k CSTN colour screen (128 x 160 pixels) which provides a great viewing display. The phone comes complete with a VGA camera which can be very easily be turned into a video recorder feature. The user can enjoying capturing still photos with the camera feature & with video recorder the user can capture their memories in action. The camera comes with photos effects that allow the user to add frames to their treasured photos to create the perfect finish. The Nokia 6070 allows the user to play video records & the user can download photos or video very quickly & easily. The Nokia 6070 comes with a total of 16 Mbytes of memory so therefore the user will have enough space available to store all of those precious photos & video recordings.

The Nokia 6070 handset has a 128 x 160 resolution screen that supports 65K colors. The display may seem somewhat basic, but it works just fine for a phone in its price range.
There’s plenty of room to store numbers in the 6070’s phonebook, but memory is on the lower side. with only about 4 MB available, it will give you enough room to store a good handful of mobile files, but the space is limited.
The standby battery life is great, at around 12 days. Talk time is a little on the low side, however, at about 3 hours.
The Nokia 6070’s VGA camera captures decent quality stills, but it won’t replace your digital camera by any means.
A few features worth mentioning are the handy speakerphone, integrated radio with speaker, and compatibility with PTT, the walkie-talkie style push to talk technology. The Nokia 6070 also suports Edge connection for fast GRPS.
There’s also infrared support to transfer ringtones and pictures. During this Nokia 6070 review we didn’t find any Bluetooth connection, but it’s something that was expected for a phone at this price point.
Overall, I recommend the Nokia 6070 as a basic phone for keeping in touch with your friends and sending SMS messages. It’s a great value, and a perfect everyday phone.
