Nokia 6061

Dimensions:
3.35 x 1.73 x 0.94 inches

The Nokia 6061 features a 500-name phone book, and each entry has room for up to five numbers; an e-mail, a Web, and a street address; a note; and an image (the SIM card holds an additional 250 names). Since the 6061 doesn’t have a camera, you’ll need to get images on your phone another way or use one of the default graphics preloaded on the mobile. And since there’s no external display, assigning images to a contact isn’t really worth the effort. You can also assign your contact to a caller group, and it is only with groups that you can pair ring tones for caller-ID purposes. The phone supports MP3, MIDI, and AMR ring tones and comes preloaded with seven polyphonic (16-chord) ring tones, or you can switch to vibrate mode. Other modes of communication on the 6061 include a speakerphone, text and multimedia messaging, e-mail (IMAP4, POP3, and SMTP), and a WAP 2.0 Web browser. If you need help in the organization department, there is a calendar, a to-do list, a calculator, an alarm clock, a stopwatch, and a countdown timer.

The phone has been presented in two color versions. Both are marked by a solid chromium-covered frame, but differ in the design of the covers. The latter can be either black or silver. I admit that the silver version corresponds better with my gusto, most of all because the black plastic material used in the other is glossy and reflects every finger print. Not to mention the fact that the surrounding chromium frame does not look that cheap when placed next to the silver cover.

The Nokia 6061 also comes with the latest alarm function that even has a snooze. It also has a calculator, perfect for the situations when a regular calculator is out of reach. The Nokia 6061 carries the latest in calendar functions and is able to catalog 500 events, which is more than most people would ever dream of scheduling. The phone also carries the necessary to-do list, and that is a function that is available to carry at least 30 commands or dictations for those who have too much to do in little amounts of time. The phone offers Backgammon, Bowling, Air Glider, and Sky Diver, and is able to download many more games via the Java MIDP 2.0 programming that comes to the phone to make all of these downloads and programs run easier and at the optimal level.

Motorola Razr Maxx
18 Mar 2010

This is not the best RAZR we’ve seen, that honor is still held by the RAZR V3xx. Still, this phone does have a couple of advantages over the AT&T device. First, we like the updated look of the Maxx, it provides a nice evolutionary bridge between this phone and the KRZR. Second, the camera on [...]

The exterior design is nearly identical to the DMP-BD35. Compared with the sleek and glossy designs of Samsung and LG, the DMP-BD60 looks pedestrian, as if it has a job to do, rather than attract attention. The disc tray is in the center of the unit, behind an automatic flip-down door, and farther right is [...]
