Nokia 6263

The Nokia 6263 is a wonderful 3G phone that supports the fastest UMTS network (UMTS 2100 MHz). Besides that, the flip-style 6263 phone is also a quad-band GSM phone, which means it operates in almost any wireless network in the world. The design of the 6263 is similar to the Nokia 6133, which is also a clamshell phone. Features and specifications of the 6263 include a 2.2-inch QVGA LCD display, a 1.3-megapixel digital camera, built-in digital music player, video recorder, FM radio, and microSD memory expansion slot that supports up to 4GB of memory upgrade.

The 6133′s navigation array is carried over from the 6133. There’s a four-way toggle with a central OK button, two soft keys, and the Talk and End/power controls. There’s no clear/back key, and though the 6263 also lacks dedicated shortcut buttons, you can set the toggle to give one-touch access to four user-defined functions. Also, there’s a secondary shortcuts menu that you can program with your favorite features. And in a change from traditional Nokia style, the End button also turns the phone on and off. On the whole, the navigation array is spacious and tactile, and we like that the toggle is raised above the surface of the phone.

The volume up and down buttons are located on the right side of the 6263, with the camera button positioned directly below. These buttons protrude slightly, but offer enough resistance so that they are not pressed accidentally. The mono speaker is also located at the bottom of the right side of the 6263. The left side of the phone is where you will find the microSD card slot, with an extremely flimsy door that attempts to protect the slot from dust. This small rubbery door is incredibly difficult to open, and feels as though the slightest tug would easily rip it off the phone.
