Combined with the warmth of its glass and stainless steel body, this “heartbeat” transforms the Nokia 8600 Luna from an inanimate object into a trusted companion with an organic, virtually alive form. When a call does beckon, the signature slide movement is carefully balanced to smoothly raise the ergonomic keypad from within its glass cocoon.

The Nokia 8600 Luna is a stunning handset which is also known as black beauty due to its distinct black glossy casing & eye catching keypad cover which allows the keypad to glow beneath the smoked glass cover. The phone comes with a 2 Inch colour screen which displays up to 16.7 million colours on a QVGA thin film transistor screen. The screen provides the user with a clear & colourful display on this fashionable handset which focuses on its imaging & media capabilities. The handset in slim & easy to handle with an overall casing size of 107mm high by 45mm wide by 15.9mm deep. The Nokia 8600 Luna weights 140 grams including the battery which feels good to hold & operate in a single hand.

The Luna is black with a white backlight to the number and other keys which is subtle rather than overly bright. Even the usually green and red Call and End keys get the white treatment. Silver edging to the screen and outer keys and also between the upper and lower sections of the handset finish things off hardware-wise. The glass front means that when you close the slider after taking a call the white lit keys are still visible for a moment before they dim down. This is a small feature in the scheme of things, but oh so cool to look at.
